New form factor with proven parts
The 3240 introduced an entirely new chassis for the Precision tower product line.
To minimize risk, the design incorporated the I/O and left side of the chassis from an OptiPlex Micro Form Factor system.
Since the 3240 was a new form factor for Dell, new insights emerged during development, requiring the system’s width to increase in order to meet thermal and acoustic performance targets.
